Running Diamond in "full screen" mode means to maximize its application window to the whole screen and hiding title bar, status bar, tool bars, and docking bars. Left are the picture view or (thumbnail) pictures view as well as structure table, data pane (showing data sheet or atom list or table or whatever) and properties pane. To demonstrate the new "Full Screen View" feature of Diamond, open the sample file "COD-1500005.diamdoc", which results in something like this. Maybe your current Diamond application window size looks different and maybe you have docking panes open or their title bars visible in the left edge of the application window.

Please note that the screenshots in this article have been made with Diamond version 4 but the functionality of full sceen view is the same in version 5.

To turn into full screen mode, run the command "Full Screen" from the "View" menu or hit the F11 key, and the result is:

S(There is still a bug, and the window does not reach the right and bottom end of the screen and some frame is left visible.)

An auxiliary semi-transparent help window will pop up for a few seconds to enable to return to normal view mode, since no "View" menu is more available. But in any case, you can end full screen mode by pressing F11 again. Or press the Escape key, and the "End full screen view" help window will pop up again. Click on the "End full screen view" label in that mini-window to return to normal view. (In a later minor version update, probably version 4.1, there will be additonal options in that small window, especially if to hide data pane and structure table, too, in order to assign the full screen size to the structure picture solely. See below.)

To enlarge the structure picture and hide data pane and properties pane and structure info bar (or structure table), use the corresponding X symbols - as shown in the screenshot - to close these panes. Alternatively you can use the >> symbol in the picture tab bar to enlarge the picture view and shrink data and properties pane so that only their (vertical) title bars are left. (Note: This is independent from full screen or normal view mode. You can do this in normal mode, too.)

Note: The "Expand pictures view" button (>>) is only available from the tab bar when you are in full screen view. The corresponding button in the main toolbar is not accessible because the main toolbar is hidden in full sceen view. To activate the tab bar, see the article Side-by-side Structure Picture Editing.

To hide both picture tab bar and picture link bar (which is blank in the sample document, since there is just one picture in it), use the button in the main toolbar as shown in this screenshot. (Note: The toolbar is not available in full screen view, you should do the hiding of tab and link bar before you switch to full screen mode.)

As already mentioned above, options to temporarily also hide data pane etc. and to have the structure picture being the only view in full screen mode will come in a later version.
